Welcome to Boley-Police-Explorers!
The Boley Police Explorer Post #1861 is a volunteer program with the Boley Police Department. This program allows young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21 the opportunity to learn more about the criminal justice field, while serving their community.
The program is service oriented. Explorers assist with clerical assignments, assist with traffic and crowd control, work alongside Police personnel at community events, and have the opportunity to ride with officers in the field. The Boley Police Explorers also participate in activities with Explorers from other police departments. Conferences, sporting events, competitions, and camps are just a few of their activities.
In order to be admitted to the program, interested young people must maintain at least a "C" average in school, be of good standing in the community, and have no felony convictions. All Explorers must pass an interview and background investigation and complete an Explorers academy, where they will be taught discipline and principals of law enforcement.
A Junior Explorers Program is also available for teens from 12 to 14. In addition to maintaining good grades, applicants must pass an interview and complete a five-week, in-house training program. Junior Explorers assist Police personnel with clerical assignments and at community events.
If you would like the opportunity to learn more about law enforcement and serve your community, please contact Chief Kevin Collins at 918-667-3700 or
come by the Police station to pick up an information packet on the first or third Monday of the month. We will be having an Explorer Post meeting from 6p.m. to 8p.m. Come and have fun with us, bring a friend, or two!
